Australian Company Settles with California Widow Over Mesothelioma Case
Don Lee Henderson, a California man who worked with asbestos products in a facility owned by Hardie Industries, died from asbestos cancer back in 2002. Hardie has agreed to pay $250,000 to Marlene Henderson, Don Lee Henderson's widow, as a result of this precedent setting case (a precedent because this is the first time that Hardie has settled a mesothelioma disease claim outside of Australia and New Zealand.) This could open the flood gates for Hardie, as it has been named in seventy-five mesothelioma cases since 1999.
