A woman's risk of breast or ovarian cancer is higher if she has BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene changes. Breast cancer is extremely rare in men but BRCA2 gene changes have been linked to male breast cancer and possibly prostate cancer.
Wow, that is really shocking! I wonder if her family has a Mesothelioma asbestos attorney on the case to help figure out where exactly she was exposed. It does sound like school is likely the place where she came in contact with it, but that could mean the school still has asbestos in it and others are at risk.
