The Asbestos Cancer Monster Rears It's Ugly Head In Japan
Japan's Health Ministry has recently come under fire for not taking the risks and dangers associated with exposure to asbestos seriously. Health Ministry records indicate that in 2003 alone, 900 people died from mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos.
In 1980, The World Health Organization declared that all forms of asbestos are cancer-causing and in 1989, the United States banned all "new uses" of the dangerous mineral. Japan, on the other hand, did not ban the 2 most dangerous forms of asbestos until 1995.
